Education Project of the Year 2022

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is England’s oldest medical college which invested £35 million towards its new facilities at the Spine, which now provides a space for medical examinations and assessments, hybrid teaching, conferences and events.

Local integrator Pure Audio Visual Ltd, approached Tukans for the installation required at the Royal College of Physicians at the Spine in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

The Royal Institution of Physicians (RCP), the oldest medical college in England, committed £35 million into brand-new facilities at the Spine that now offer a venue for conferences, meetings, hybrid teaching, and medical exams and assessments.

Recursive was given the duty of designing the system as part of the installation for the RCP, and Pure AV was chosen as the project’s audio-visual integrator after a long bid process.

The following solutions were supplied by Tukans to meet the project requirements:
1 x U3D-APUSB PTZ Camera -Autopilot VDO 360 with Saber USB3.0
1 x Saber Plus Full HD PTZ Angekis Camera
28 x C303W-D Clock Audio

For each of the 28 simulation rooms located on floor eleven, Pure AV installed the Clockaudio suspended C 303W-D Tri element array microphone as their solution. Each of these spaces can be utilised as an operating room, consulting room, or hospital bed. The course testing process for medical applicants was automated thanks to the QSC media playback system and Tripleplay digital signage.

The suspended C 303W-D tri-element array microphone from Clockaudio features three high-sensitivity cardioid capsules for true 360-degree voice pickup, a fully programmable RGB LED status light ring that can be set to any colour, and all three audio channels on a Dante / AES67 Networked output for simple connection to a DSP.
