St Asaph Cathedral in North Wales, founded by the Normans in 1143 on a site with 6th-century origins, has endured centuries of damage and restoration, including major 19th-century work by Sir George Gilbert Scott. Recently, the cathedral has modernized its services with an advanced audio system, a PTZ camera for live streaming, and a wireless multi-screen TV setup by Richard King Systems, enhancing visitor experience, providing flexible viewing, and reducing printed materials while preserving the historic setting.

Enhancing Democratic Transparency: Caerphilly Council’s Automated AV Upgrade

Caerphilly Council has upgraded its AV system with AREC speaker tracking and Televic solutions, distributed by CUK Group/Tukans and integrator Kinly, to improve meeting transparency and public engagement. The DS-9CU automates video production by tracking councillors’ microphones and switching between PTZ cameras, simplifying recording, streaming, and minute taking while also serving as a webcam for videoconferencing. Integrated with the AREC Media Station, the system enables full HD recording, social media streaming, and dynamic video layouts, delivering clearer, more engaging coverage of council meetings.

The system combines multiple video and audio sources, offers easy control via a built-in display, and requires minimal technical expertise. Integrated with PTZ cameras and Televic audio systems, it streams meetings live on YouTube and onsite, improving transparency and public access to local government.

AREC enhances UK Fire Service training procedures

The West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS), England’s second-largest fire service, has enhanced its training capabilities with an advanced AV solution developed by Hadleigh Technical Support and Tukans (The CUK Group), featuring the AREC Media Station. Covering a region with high emergency risks, WMFS required a powerful, flexible system to support realistic training scenarios. Integrated with  cameras, simulation software, Netvio AVoIP distribution, and Symetrix DSP-managed audio from ClockAudio and Televic microphones, the system enables comprehensive performance review and multi-session training from a single station. This installation has already begun improving preparedness for both new recruits and experienced officers.
